ARGENTINA BEAT ROMANIA IN BUCHAREST


Argentina scored four tries to beat hosts Romania 24-17 in Bucharest. Romania returned to its home stadium for the first time in four years gave the visitors a hard time before going down with a narrow margin. It was also Argentina's first match in Bucharest since 1992.

Romanian fullback Ionel Melinte opened the scoring with the first of his four penalties. Rodrigo Bruni and Santiago Cordero delivered two tries for Argentina before the they were awarded a penalty try minutes before the end of first half. The Pumas went into the break with a good 17-9 lead.

LABUAN 10'S

Romania were on fire in the second half and looked ready to pull a surprise on their opponent. A try by Eugen Capatina, and a successful penalty by Melinte leveled the score to 17-17. However, substitute Juan Martin Gonzalez scored the winner on his debut to give the win for Argentina.

Romania are supposed to meet Scotland next week but that match has been cancelled due to the rising COVID-19 cases in the Scottish camp. Argentina will travel to Cardiff for two test matches against Wales.
