SPRINGBOKS BEAT GEORGIA IN FIRST TEST MATCH SINCE 2019

It's job done for South Africa after they played their first test match in 20 months at Loftus Versfeld. The Springboks defeated Georgia 40-9 from a little scrappy start into some moments of brilliance. Georgia were leading in the match for 35 minutes before South Africa got a grip into it.

Georgia took the lead just after 3 minutes into the match from a penalty by Tedo Abzhandadze. South Africa responded with three tries in the first half through Aphelele Fassi, Bongi Mbonambi and Cobus Reinach. Handre Pollard scored two out of three conversions to give the Rugby World Champions 19-9 lead at the break.

South Africa were more organised after the match resumed. Kwagga Smith, Herschel Jantjies and Malcolm Marx delivered three more tries for the Springboks. Pollard and Elton Jantjies scored all their conversions in the second half.
