The Olympic rugby sevens competition started in Tokyo as 12 teams were in action at the Tokyo Stadium. Defending champions Fiji came from behind to beat hosts Japan in the opening match. Great Britain, New Zealand, Argentina, South Africa and USA also kicked-off with wins in their pool matches.
