Cobra Venom have roared their way into Malaysian rugby history, becoming the unstoppable first champions of the Selangor Women Rugby League! In a five-team showdown, they swept all opponents aside with a perfect win record, proving their might, grit, and sisterhood on the field.
With 34 fearless players taking the field this season, Cobra Venom’s journey was built on discipline and fire, training twice a week since April under the sharp eye of Head Coach Mohd Faiz. Captain Rozliana Ridwan led with vision and precision, kicking conversions with ice-cold accuracy. Nur Izzah Azizan, the explosive outside centre, left defenders chasing shadows, while powerhouse pack leader Wan Noor Shafiqa bulldozed her way to become the team’s top try scorer.
ATM Women put up a strong fight and finished second, bolstered by the sensational Siti Nursyamimi, who ruled the scoreboard with a jaw-dropping 84 points to become the league’s top scorer. Sarawak Rugby claimed a historic third, highlighted by Valerie Juan’s magic moment, the first-ever drop goal scored by a Malaysian woman in 15s rugby!
This thrilling first season has set the stage for a powerful future. Women’s rugby is rising, and it's fearless, fierce, and here to stay!
