ASIA RUGBY UNVEILS SEVENS SERIES CALENDAR

Asia Rugby has set the stage for an electrifying year with the launch of the 2025 Emirates Sevens calendar, featuring expanded competitions, new host cities, and greater stakes than ever before. This year’s main series welcomes 12 national men’s and women’s teams, up from eight, all vying for supremacy and a coveted spot in the HSBC SVNS Division 3, World Rugby’s global sevens pathway.

The two-leg Asia Rugby Emirates Sevens Series kicks off in Hangzhou, China on 20–21 September, then heads to the iconic Racecourse Stadium in Colombo, Sri Lanka on 18–19 October.

Adding more fire to the calendar is the Asia Rugby Emirates Sevens Trophy, a developmental series featuring historic debuts in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia (11–12 October) and Muscat, Oman (25–26 October), marking a proud return of international sevens to West and Central Asia.

Youth pathways will shine too, with U20s in India and U18s in China ready to light up the regional stage.

Asia Rugby President Qais Al Dhalai hailed the calendar as a symbol of access, opportunity, and unity. With new doors opening across the continent, Asia Rugby 2025 is ready to explode with action!
