SOUTH AFRICA CROWNED U20 WORLD CHAMPIONS

South Africa are the 2024 World Rugby U20 Champions after a stunning 23-15 win over New Zealand in Rovigo, claiming their first title since 2012.

From the first whistle, the Junior Springboks imposed their power game, with Xola Nyali crashing over from a dominant maul. Despite New Zealand’s clever response through Jayden Sa, South Africa’s fearless defence and set-piece strength told the story. Vusi Moyo was key with the boot, while scrum-half Hassiem Pead’s brilliant kick set up Gilermo Mentoe’s decisive try.

Captain Riley Norton, who once played in a U19 Cricket World Cup, called it “the greatest day of my life,” praising the team’s unity, DNA of forward power, and South African pride.
