HONG KONG AND CHINA U20 STRIKE GOLD IN INDIA


In scorching conditions at the Asia Rugby U20 Sevens 2025 in Rajgir, Bihar, India, Hong Kong’s U20 Men’s team stormed to gold with a commanding 33-0 victory over Sri Lanka in the Cup Final. William Stubbings emerged as the tournament’s top men’s try scorer with seven. Malaysia claimed bronze, defeating China 19-7.


In the Women’s U20 category, China captured the title after edging Hong Kong 29-21 in a thrilling final. Sophie Aranha from Hong Kong shone as the top women’s try scorer with eight. China reached the final by beating India 28-7, while Hong Kong overcame Uzbekistan 24-5. India took bronze with a 12-5 win over Uzbekistan.

Head Coach Paul John praised the dedication of both squads and staff, crediting strong preparation, team spirit, and expert coaching for their impressive performances in a tournament that showcased the rising talent of Asia’s next rugby generation.
