NEW ZEALAND DUO STRIKE DOUBLE GOLD IN DUBAI

New Zealand delivered a dream start to the HSBC SVNS Series as both the All Blacks Sevens and Black Ferns Sevens captured championship titles in Dubai, completing a stunning double triumph. The All Blacks Sevens ended their long wait for a Series victory with a pulsating 26–22 win over Australia in the gold-medal final. Australia struck early through Maurice Longbottom, but New Zealand responded with back-to-back tries from Dylan Collier and Akuila Rokolisoa, taking a narrow halftime lead thanks also to a brilliant try-saving tackle from Player of the Final Brady Rush.

Sione Molia extended the advantage early in the second half before Australia fought back fiercely. With the game tightening, Jayden Keelan delivered the decisive try, sealing New Zealand’s first title since Singapore 2024. Fiji later outclassed France to secure bronze.

In the Women’s Cup Final, the Black Ferns Sevens defeated Australia 29–14 after overpowering Japan 31–0 in the semifinals, while Japan claimed third place with a 22–12 win over Fiji.
