Vioba Blues once again stamped their dominance on Kuala Lumpur rugby, sealing a historic third consecutive KLR League title with a commanding performance in the final match of the 2025 season. Unbeaten from start to finish, the champions proved why they remain the benchmark of the league, delivering when it mattered most.
Facing a determined SJAA Eagles side, Vioba struck first-half gold through Naufal Qayyim, whose well-taken try was calmly converted by Muhammad Jauhar. SJAA refused to roll over, showing immense grit and intensity, but missed two crucial penalty chances that could have shifted momentum. Vioba, ruthless as ever, capitalised on every opening to take a 7–0 halftime lead.
The second half belonged entirely to the Blues. More organised and composed, Vioba tightened their structure and increased the tempo. Muhammad Haikal crossed for the second try, with Khainor Arif adding the conversion, before Naufal Qayyim completed his brace to put the result beyond doubt. Despite missing one penalty, Vioba closed the contest with a convincing 19–0 victory.
Under the guidance of team manager Shazlan Mazlan and head coach Ahmad Fadzlee, Vioba showcased a winning mentality built on discipline, belief and consistency. Standout performers Aizat Bahrain and Muhammad Haikal were instrumental throughout the season, epitomising the squad’s positive mindset.
Elsewhere, Mobster Rugby Club underlined their credentials with a thumping 69–5 win over Kusess Barbarians, pushing the title race until the final whistle, while SJAA Eagles finished third overall.
Organised annually by the Kuala Lumpur Rugby Union, the KLR League remains the city’s premier rugby competition. Vioba Blues were rewarded with the prestigious Datuk Seri Zainal Abidin Mohd Rafique Trophy, personally presented by Datuk Seri Zainal Abidin Mohd Rafique himself, a fitting end to another unforgettable season of Kuala Lumpur rugby.
