SINGAPORE STAGE SET FOR SVNS SHOWDOWN

The reimagined HSBC SVNS Series roars into Singapore this weekend, bringing world-class speed, skill and spectacle for round three of a thrilling season. With all 16 men’s and women’s teams chasing valuable league points, the stakes are rising fast ahead of the three-stop Championship later this year.

Team captains gathered at the National Stadium to officially launch the tournament, setting the tone for an electrifying weekend. Fans can expect more than just rugby, with Singapore set to transform into a colourful sevens festival featuring family-friendly entertainment, interactive fan zones and vibrant community activities. Defending champions Fiji (men) and New Zealand (women) return with targets on their backs and momentum to protect.

On the men’s side, the race is razor-tight. South Africa, Fiji and New Zealand are locked on 32 points, while France, Australia and Argentina remain firmly in pursuit. South Africa captain Siviwe Soyizwapi, closing in on a historic try-scoring milestone in Singapore, insists complacency is not an option.

In the women’s competition, New Zealand and Australia share the summit on 38 points after trading wins in Dubai and Cape Town. Australia skipper Isabella Nasser says her side are refreshed, hungry and ready to ignite Singapore once more.
