KEDAH WOMEN WIN GOLD AT SUKMA GAMES


Kedah bagged the gold medal in women’s Rugby 7's final of the 20th Malaysia Games (SUKMA). They beat Selangor 17-12 at the UiTM Shah Alam Rugby Field.

Kedah were in the final after impressive victories over Pahang 47-0 in the quarterfinals, and Sabah 12-5 in semifinals. Selangor beat Perlis 12-7 in the quarters, and Johor 5-0 in the last four to set-up the final clash with Kedah.


Dhaniyah Nur Amirah Azharshah scored two tries for Selangor, with one converted by Raziatul Nabila Syamsudin. Kedah's tries were scored by Aisyahtulfitriah Mohd Hasbi (two) and Nurul Izzati Ahmad Daud, with Chrestiyanti Paunil converting one.

Sabah beat Johor 15-0 to take claim the bronze medal. The SUKMA 2022 is the most awaited event by all state rugby teams. It is where all state rugby teams send their homegrown talents.
