AUSTRALIA UNVEILS ICONIC VENUES FOR RUGBY WORLD CUP

Men’s Rugby World Cup 2027 has taken a major step forward with the confirmation of eight world-class stadiums across seven Australian cities set to host the global showpiece. From the opening whistle to the final showdown, fans can expect a spectacular celebration of rugby played in some of the country’s most iconic arenas.

The tournament will kick off on 1 October 2027 at Perth Stadium, a 60,000-seat venue renowned for its design and fan experience, before culminating at Stadium Australia in Sydney | Wangal on 13 November, where 82,000 spectators will witness the final. The expanded 24-team edition will combine tradition and innovation, with five venues returning from Rugby World Cup 2003, including Adelaide Oval and Brisbane Stadium, alongside modern additions.

Melbourne’s Docklands Stadium will offer guaranteed playing conditions as the tournament’s only fully enclosed venue, while North Queensland Stadium in Townsville | Gurambilbarra will make its Rugby World Cup debut. Newcastle Stadium also joins the line-up for the first time, adding regional flavour to the event.

Sydney | Gadigal stands out as the only city hosting matches at two venues, reflecting the scale of the tournament. Managing Director Chris Stanley said the selected stadiums highlight Australia’s rugby heritage and commitment to delivering unforgettable atmospheres, ensuring Men’s Rugby World Cup 2027 reaches fans nationwide and around the world.
