SUPER 5 DELIVERS DRAMA HOPE AND BELIEF

Muamalat Bullets stamped their authority on the 2026 Bank Muamalat Super 5 Rugby friendly series, completing the campaign unbeaten and finishing comfortably at the top of the table. Packed with some of Malaysia’s finest rugby talents, the Bullets showcased quality across every position, delivering composed, dominant performances in every outing. The experience of seasoned campaigners such as Anwarul Hafiz and Sufian Kamil proved invaluable, guiding the squad with leadership, calmness, and class.

UPM Angels emerged as the second-placed side after impressive victories over IIUM Mustangs and Vioba Blues. Once again, the Angels underlined why they remain the strongest university rugby team in the country. Brimming with talent and depth, UPM showed they are more than capable of competing against senior club sides and holding their own at higher levels.

IIUM Mustangs also made their mark. Fresh from numerous Rugby 7s and 10s campaigns, they demonstrated they possess the ability to thrive in the 15s format. Their opening win over Kuala Lumpur champions VIOBA Blues was a statement of intent, and with greater exposure, the Mustangs could develop into a formidable senior force.

Despite struggling for results, VIOBA Blues displayed tremendous fighting spirit, competing bravely despite missing several key players.

The Muamalat Super 5 Rugby may be modest in size, but its impact is meaningful. More than a competition, it is a starting point, reconnecting rugby communities and reigniting hope for Malaysian rugby’s future.
